Born and raised in England, Judy moved to the U.S. in 1979. After living on the Arizona/Utah border for a couple of years she went on to earn a Masters and Ph.D. in English.
Her dissertation explored the semiotics of quilting, and many of Judy's publications focus on quilts in literature and culture. She taught a variety of writing and literature classes at Weber State Univeristy, and retired in July of 2016.
Judy is married to Alan Livingston, who has three grown daughters, and three adorable grand children.
